Preparing For Laser Hair Removal
Warm weather is right around the corner! Laser hair removal is a great way to achieve permanent hair reduction and stop the need for shaving every day. This quick treatment and will leave your skin soft and smooth.
Follow these steps to prepare for your laser hair removal treatment:
- Stay out of the sun
Tans can increase the risk of skin lightening. If you already have a tan, wait until it fades completely before scheduling your first laser hair removal session.
- Don’t pluck or wax
It is ok to shave but avoid plucking and waxing before your appointment. These methods of hair removal can disturb follicles and interfere with laser hair removal. Shaving is okay, however, because it preserves the hair shaft and follicle.
- Check your skincare regimen
When you schedule your appointment, let us know what skin care products you are using. You may need to stop using certain anti-aging products for a few days before and after your appointment.
- Clean your skin
On the day of your laser hair removal session, make sure to cleanse the skin at the treatment site and leave it free of cosmetics, lotions, and creams. If you’ve applied deodorant, it will be removed prior to treatment.
- Wear appropriate clothing
Wear clothing that leaves the treated area exposed or is loose fitting. Tight or abrasive clothing will feel uncomfortable if your skin is sensitive after treatment.
