Skin Care On Vacation
Many people are vacationing differently this year, but no matter how you’re spending your time off, taking proper care of your skin is still priority number one! Remember these tips from our doctors when you start to pack your bags.
Did you know that you are more susceptible to UV rays when flying? If you’re taking a plane to your vacation destination, remember to put sunscreen on your exposed skin. Plane windows do not provide adequate UV protection and being 10,000 feet in the air means you’re even closer to the sun than relaxing on the beach!
Hydration is key for keeping your skin and the rest of your body happy and healthy! Soaking up the sun and those adult beverages you may or may not be enjoying can leave you dehydrated. Pack your favorite moisturizers and cleansers, and drink lots of water!
Add a good set of face wipes to your packing list. In general, they are easier than packing your favorite soap and you can take them in your carry-on whether you’re flying or driving. You can’t always rely on hotels providing high-quality soap, so it is a good idea to bring wipes with you wherever you’re staying.
Finally, this tip will help your skin stay clear, and help you combat any germs while you’re out and about: don’t touch your face! It’s likely that even though you’ve packed well and prepared to keep your skin healthy during vacation, things like your usual routine and diet will be different for that week. Keeping your hands from your face will keep additional bacteria from heavily touched surfaces from getting into your pores and can help protect from potential viruses getting into your system.
We hope your family enjoys this much-deserved time of rest and relaxation!
